Welcome to the IGERT Project Meeting web site! We are looking forward to meeting with you in May. Over the next two months, this web site will be one of our primary sources of communication with you. Here you will be able to register, get hotel information, the agenda, and other information we think will be useful to you.
We view this meeting as having a number of purposes:
- You will have opportunities to network and to learn from each other.
- We will have an opportunity to meet with you to learn about your successes, concerns, and problems, and thus help you and improve the overall program.
- You will meet with NSF staff and learn more about NSF policies, practices, and future plans.
We again welcome IGERT graduate students to this meeting. We are eager to meet you! Your education is the focus of the IGERT program, and we are excited about the opportunity to hear first-hand about your IGERT experiences. Graduate student attendees will present posters about their research. Please note that the posters should be prepared keeping in mind a non-specialist audience. We hope that your IGERT training has prepared you well to communicate across disciplines, i.e., your research problem, its importance and results to the 250+ attendees.
For all attendees we plan a meeting orientation from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Sunday, May 14. We hope that you can arrange your travel to attend this session.
We anticipate that the best outcome of this meeting will be the chance to learn about some of the important research that is planned or underway in IGERT projects, to hear about innovations in graduate education, and to get to know each other in the growing IGERT community.
