Washington, D.C. is served by 3 airports - Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). All three airports are within one hour of the NIH Campus. The Metro subway system is accessible only from Ronald Reagan National Airport.
By Taxi or Shuttle
Taxis will be readily available directly outside of the terminal for each of the airports. Approximate costs from each of the airports to NIH Campus are listed below and may be subject to change:
Reagan National: $35.00 - 40.00
Dulles International: $65.00 - 70.00
Baltimore-Washington: $70.00 - 75.00
Super Shuttle is a van service that will take you directly from the airport to the Hotel or NIH's Security entrance on Center Drive. The shuttle service picks up passengers outside of the airport terminal. Approximate costs from each of the airports are listed below and may be subject to change. When arriving at NIH by taxi, the driver will go through the drive-through Security area. As a passenger, you will need to show a government issued photo I.D. and go through a metal detector. Once you have passed through Security, follow signs to Building 45, Natcher Auditorium.

Metro service is available from Regan National Airport to the NIH Campus. NIH is located at the Medical Center Station on the Red Line. The cost is approximately $2.35/$3.20 non rush hour/rush hour per person one way.

When you exit the escalator from the Metro, follow the signs for the entrance to NIH. You will need to stop at the Gateway trailer to be cleared by NIH Security to enter the campus. You will need a government issued photo I.D. (i.e. driver's license or passport). Any bags or suitcases are subject to search by Security.
By Private Vehicle
Because parking on the NIH Campus is extremely limited, please do not drive to the symposium. Public transportation or taxicab is the best way to travel to the NIH campus.
